    The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a constant battle between Israel and Palestine. It began in the mid-20th century and continues. Multiple attempts have tried to settle the dispute. All efforts are in vain, and both parties have failed to reach a final peace agreement.                                                       

    Recently, Al Jazeera, a Qatar-based network, has confirmed the death of Shireen Abu Akleh. She went to the Jenin refugee camp to report on a raid by Israeli soldiers. Israel troops shot her deliberately in Jenin. 

    The Israeli army reported that Abu Akleh was about 150 meters away from Israeli forces when she was shot in her head. The bullet was 5.56 millimeters in diameter and shot from an M16 rifle. She was taken to the hospital in a life-threatening condition, where she died.

    Shireen’s body was carried in Jenin’s streets, draped in a Palestinian flag, and covered by a press flak jacket. even after her death, she was still tortured as the Israeli troops harassed the Palestinian Coffin bearers from carrying out their cultural burial of her body, Coffin bearers were repeatedly struck with batons to the point that her coffin fell to the ground.

    Israel’s prime minister said that the reason behind the shot may be an exchange of fire with Palestinians. According to his military chief, the cause of the incident is still not clear.

    Who is Shireen and Ali Samoudi?

    Shireen Abu Akleh, 51, covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for millions of people. In 1997, she joined Al Jazeera as one of its first correspondents on the ground. Over the years, she became one of the most well-known Israeli-Palestinian conflict reporters.

    Ali Samoudi another Palestinian journalist, who was also Shot said ”When we attempted to film the Israeli army operation, someone suddenly shot us without asking us to leave or to stop working.

    Initially, the first bullet hit me, then the second bullet struck Shireen. There was no Palestinian resistance at the scene,” said Samoudi.

    Mr. Bennett said Israel had requested the Palestinian Authority conduct a joint postmortem investigation. According to him, Palestinian officials have declined the offer. But a Palestinian minister said there had been no contact from Israel about a joint investigation.
